Welcome to Grace Lutheran Church.
Many questions get asked by visitors to church, newcomers to town, and the friends and neighbors of our members. Here’s a list of questions that may help you get to know us better.
What kind of church is Grace Lutheran?
Grace Lutheran Church is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and part of the Nebraska Synod. You can click the links below to find out more about these organizations. Grace has been a part of the Lexington Community since 1950. Our Mission Statement is "Making Christ Known through Worship, Education, and Service".
We worship at 10am every Sunday morning. We also provide Wednesday night worship during the church seasons of Advent and Lent and additional worship services for Holidays.
Who is welcome at Grace Lutheran Church? Do I have to be a member?
All are welcome at Grace Lutheran Church. There is no qualifier for who can attend services or join any of our ministries- Jesus Christ calls all to receive his Grace and Love. Here at Grace we believe our diversity is a strength and people from all walks of life are welcome. We love to show hospitality and know you will be able to find a great faith home at Grace Lutheran Church - There is a place for you here!
Can children come to worship? Is childcare provided?
We do not provide childcare during the worship service because children are part of the worshiping community! We love having children in worship in all their fidgety playful goodness. We provide quiet toys and books for them to use in worship, there is a children's sermon, and, if you need it, there is a play area next to the church office where you can sit with your little ones while still being able to listen to the service.
Do I have to dress up for worship?
No! Dressing up is not a requirement to worship with us at Grace. Many do wear their “Sunday best” but you’re just as likely to see someone in slacks, a casual shirt, or jeans and flip-flops. The most important part of worship is showing up and being together as a Christian faith community. All are welcome!
What else does Grace Lutheran Church do besides Sunday Worship?
We have many different ministry and service groups here at Grace Lutheran Church. There are myriad opportunities to live out your faith and discover new ways to serve Christ. You can browse the 'Service' section of our website to see some of ministries we are a part of here.
What educational opportunities do you have for children and youth?
